Job Apply Autofill — Settings

Cloud sync

Backs up your settings, custom prompt, learned answers, and documents to your signed-in Spyder account, so signing back in after a reinstall brings everything back. On by default. (Separately, this install also automatically contributes value-free ATS field/order knowledge to a shared pool that speeds up every user on the same site — never your actual answers — regardless of this setting.)

Your details & instructions

Free text the "Apply with AI" runner reads when a field has no saved answer. Put anything here — contact details, work history, salary expectations, preferences. It's stored only on this machine. (Without an AI key configured this is not used; the runner needs it to read your text.)

Standing instructions — one per box, applied to every application:

Global answers

Reused across every site unless a domain below overrides it.

Field typeValueUses

Documents

Uploaded once here, then auto-attached to resume/cover-letter fields on applications.

Per-domain overrides

Answers that differ from the global value for a specific site.

Learned autofill data

Separate from the answers above: per-site, the runner remembers which value it typed into which field ("remembered fields") and the click/fill sequence it used to get through the form ("saved sequence"), so a repeat application is mostly instant replay. If a run ever mis-filled something, that mistake can keep quietly replaying here - clear the entry for that site below to make the next run figure it out fresh.

AI runner

Lets the "Apply with AI" button work out unfamiliar fields itself, using your own LLM API key. The key is stored only on this machine and sent only to the provider you pick.

Remote MCP access

Lets an AI code editor (Claude Code, Cursor, ...) drive this browser directly, by connecting through relay.spydermcp.com with your own MCP OAuth token. Off by default — this is a bigger trust boundary than the local-only bridge: whatever holds that token can run tools here whenever this browser is open and signed in.
