Checking latest version…
Install it
- Download the
.zipabove, then unzip it somewhere you'll keep it (don't delete the folder afterwards — Chrome loads the extension from it directly). - Open
chrome://extensionsin Chrome. - Turn on Developer mode (top-right toggle).
- Click Load unpacked, then select the unzipped folder.
- Pin it to your toolbar and open it — click Sign in with Google to get started.
Why not the Chrome Web Store?
Spyder Jobs uses Chrome's debugger permission to interact with job
application pages the same way a careful human would — real clicks, real typed
keystrokes — rather than scripted DOM manipulation, since many ATS (applicant
tracking system) sites specifically detect and block the simpler kind of
automation. Chrome Web Store review scrutinizes that permission heavily with no
guaranteed approval, so for now we distribute directly instead of waiting on
that process.
Staying updated
Since this isn't installed through the Chrome Web Store, it can't silently
auto-update in the background. The extension checks for new versions
periodically and will show a small "Update available" link in its popup when
one exists — click it, then repeat the install steps above with the new zip.
